For my final project for my darkroom class, I took photos at a local Low Rider car meet. I went with my two friends, Griffin and Luis, who also liked cars. It was awesome – everyone there had that shared love of cars and where extremely welcoming. People brought their kids and after it got dark, people took turns driving up and down the street, raising and lowering their cars.

In highschool, my brother and I would go to car meets, that had that same sense of community. People were quick to share their creative builds, and excited to answer any followups, no matter how dumb I felt asking.

It was cool to see that 1000 miles away from Connecticut, you could still find that.

I asked him if I could take a photo of his car for his class, and he wanted to pose with his replica gun
There was a suprising amount of people biking up and down the street
Some of the bikes were motorcycles
Cars parked and posed up and down the street
After dark, people started driving up and down the street
These guys couldn’t stop giggling as they would jerk up and down
A bunch of the kids had these remote control low riders.
